Patricia Angoy

Principal of Waterford Kamhlaba UWC of Southern Africa

Born in Guyana, a country of many different racial, ethnic and language groups, Patricia Angoy is a fervent believer that our world is enriched through our unique perspectives and common understandings. 

Having finished her secondary schooling in London, UK, and studied Education and Geography at Goldsmiths’ College, University of London, then an MA at the University of Warwick in English Language Teaching and later an MEd at the University of Exeter in Practice Based Educational Research. 

Patricia Angoy held leadership positions in international schools in Chile, Togo, Cuba, Ecuador and Luxembourg and is now honoured to take on the leadership of Waterford Kamhlaba UWC of Southern Africa. A school built on the principles of anti-racism, diversity, equity and inclusion and sit in the global south in an old continent with a young and vibrant population. One that will continue to support and encourage thinkers and learners, creative and courageous young people who are ready to embrace challenge and uncertainty and lead from wherever they find themselves in the future.
